I have a 2008 Fun Finder 139. It has a drip/awing rail. Do need to trim this rail in order to install awning support arms?

Are you saying that your awning does not already have support arms?? They are included (free!) with every trailer -- otherwise, there is no way to deploy the awning.

Maybe someone removed the support arms from your trailer?

The 139 series trailers have a sliding awning "rafter," which I think is the same thing as a support arm.

Finally, another question -- when you mention the drip "rail," do you mean the track where the awning meets the side of the trailer?

Here's a photo of a 2007 model -- the awning arms are fastened at the bottom. As the awning unrolls, the top of the arms pivot away from the roofline:

Wow. So you are starting from scratch, except that it sounds like the awning track is already in place.

If that is true, I don't think you will need to cut the track. I took a picture of the upper end of my front awning arm -- the attachment plate sort of forms a bridge over the track. The photo is not great -- there are some random wires and strings in the shot -- but I think it will give you the general idea:

I am guessing that you are going to order a whole awning set, with arms and hardware included? You might be able to get some or all of what you need at an RV salvage yard, if there is one near where you live.

Good luck, and let me know if you need a better photo!

I have a FunFinder XT245 but the awning attachment may be the same (looks like my photos are similar to Dan's). Mine has a bracket that bridges the gutter. That bracket holds the furled awning and the support arm in place. The awning fabric itself has a reinforcement at its end. The reinforcing plate screws to the underside of the gutter.

Looking at the picture, I have a little caulking to do.
