Bath fan opening leaks

We recently bought a 2006 T-139 that was stored inside and only used 2-3 times since it was new. Excellent condition and it is what we need for the two of us. I noticed a drip from the Bath fan opening following a rain during our recent camping trip. It did not seem to matter if the vent cover on the roof was up or down. When we returned home I looked at the vent cover on the roof and noticed the felt around the interior of the vent cover was loose on one side. I assumed the felt was to prevent outside air from entering the Bath room when the Vent was closed. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.

Not sure what brand of vent you have in your bathroom...

The one in my 210WBS is a VanAir style round power vent. Handle inside that you push up to open and a smallish push button to turn the fan on. Mine leaked in the first rain we had after buying it. Tracked it down to the two screws that held the dome on (outside, up on the roof). I put a couple of dabs of sealant on them and have not had any problems since (4 years now). Mine was dripping, very slightly, from the inside area of the fan and not the ceiling around it...

Thanks for your reply. I have a fan similar to yours. I did check the 2 screws on the roof and they did have sealant on them. My leak is similar to yours as it drips on the inside of the fan opening near the edge. I plan to take a water hose with spray nozzle to see if I simulate the effects of rain on the Bath Fan vent. I don't see any water stains appearing on the Bath ceiling. It appears to be a leak isolated to the Bath Fan vent opening.

We plan to go camping the middle of this week for 5 days. Not sure I will resolve the problem before we leave.

Mine "looked" sealed, too... Turns out one of the screws wasn't in tight and over time it vibrated enough to pull the sealant up from the surface enough to allow water under the sealant and down the screw hole; slow drip onto the toilet seat. The drip was fully enclosed in the fan assembly, so, there wasn't any structural effects. I peeled the existing sealant off, cleaned it up and re-sealed and cured the issue.

Though yours looks sealed, you may have the same problem...
