Work ended early today, so I got a chance to do some finish work on the bed area. I had some plastic laminate left over from a job and it just happened to match the trailer cabinets. Now the nasty looking wood is covered, so I'm sure I'll sleep better(?) I modified the queen bed area in the front to be a sitting area as well as a sleeping area. When it is set up for sitting, the bed base is pushed all the way forward. For sleeping, pull out the bed base and it becomes just a bit larger than a twin bed, which is all I need. If the time comes that I need a larger bed, or if we sell the trailer, I added some aluminum angle supports to extend the area back to queen size. I picked up another piece of foam and made a cushion (which I still need to wrap) and cut the original queen platform down for a base. The third pic is something I found for my wife. She sleeps in a recliner and we all know that ain't happening in a 189FBR, but with a quick dinette mod, this could work for her.
