While doing some early season maintenance on my FF-189 with the battery disconnect switch "on" (meaning the electrical system was disconnected), I decided to test the trailer breakaway switch. Much to my surprise it didn't work. I turned the disconnect switch to the "off" position and the breakaway switch operated normally.
My take-away from this: NEVER tow your trailer with the disconnect switch "on". I was under the apparent misconception that the disconnect switch only operates on the circuits from the converter.
Or, maybe something is wrong with the disconnect switch? Your thoughts?
