One of the brackets that supports the smaller bunk in my trailer has begun to fall off as the screws in the wall have begun to slip. (They are screwed into nothing but the sheetrock-like walls of course.) I moved the bracket and reinstalled the screws, but surely I'll face the same thing again...

I'm thinking of installing four "posters" at each corner: something like 1" x 1" wood posts screwed into the wall, under the existing brackets.

Has anyone tried anything similar? Or does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks.

thanks for the tip

Your idea sounds like a good one... Only the bottom of the "legs" must rest on something solid........ I just bought mine a week ago and have not "torn" into it to investigate everything....Reinforcing anything mass produced usually becomes necessary..... What does the manufacturer say.... did you exceed the weight limit...?.....

Good luck

Yes, in each corner I will rest/support the 4 posts on top of the bottom bunk which is a wood frame. I intend to use drywall screws so I will first drill pilot holes in the wood.

Re. contacting the manufacturer, I wouldn't even try contacting Cruiser. From all the posts I've read, I wouldn't expect a response.

I am very careful and have never exceeded the weight limit. Thanks.
