Caulk removal

Some of the exterior caulk on my 07 189 FBR has dried and cracked. I would like to remove all of the old caulk and apply new; however, caulk remover does nothing on the vertical surfaces. Any recommendations on how to remove the old caulk?

On my XT276 there was extra caulking smeared on some of the trim and a few other places.

I used Goo Gone sprayed on a rag and then wiped on the trim and other spots. Took it right off.
