Camped for four nights at a really nice park in southern Illinois. Met up with Michelle ( former FF owner here on the list, now Lance owner ). Very nice CG.

Also, another RV wives tale de-bunked. "You'll burn out your water pump if you run it dry".

You guessed it, nitwit me, left the CG this AM, drained the fresh tank and the water heater, dumped holding tanks and hit the road. Seven hours later when I stepped inside the trailer, I realized I left the pump running.

So I filled the fresh tank here at home, turned it on, and it pumps just like it always did. So that's good.

Sheesh, one more thing to add to my checklist: turn the pump off, stupid !

I've left the pump on too. As long as you don't try to run water, is it really running?

Looks like a nice park; I love the tall trees. How crowded was the park this time of year?

I always leave some water in the fresh water tank when traveling should it be necessary to use the rest room, just wash my hands or whatever.

Never hurts to have a little of 'mother natures universal solvent' on hand. :)

Marti, regarding how crowded, I stayed an extra day after Michelle left. There were a couple of tent campers over yonder, the CG hosts....and me. Very peaceful !

On our recent camping trip the last day I decided to use the shower instead of the campground showers. Toward the end I heard a sucking noise. Then it hit me ,out of water!! I was soaking wet and I could hear the pump struggling. I ran Down the length of the trailer flinging water everywhere and got to the pump switch. I was really worried I had ruined it. But, as you discovered all was well. But we had to bring the dirty dishes home to wash them. I thought I was saving water. Next time it's campground showers again.
