I was curious if anyone else on here has removed all or most of the vinyl graphics plastered all over the sides of our trailers? And why do manufacturers feel the need to turn otherwise clean shapes into rolling graphic displays. The first picture is when it was new, the second is in front of our house last year just before a trip. I removed a good 90% of mine and really prefer the "Clean" look.

That got me wondering what other folks think?

I haven't removed any of mine, although I thought about matching them to my Acadia (Dark Blue), or even getting the 2010 decals as I like them better.

The first thing I always think when someone has removed the graphics is the trailer's been rebuilt or in an accident. But to each their own.

I do agree that the graphics are tacky though.. I say it's time for full body paint.. :D

I also thought about getting some graphics in the same color as the tow vehicle, but when I found out how much $ they carge for large sizes I decided the uncluttered look works well enough!

Hmmm.... Spray cans...never thought of that! I wonder how it would look with a dark grey base coat with fading black and silver stipes?

Removing Graphics

I store my fun finder outside and the sun has caused the graphics to peel.
for some reason it is only on the front and rear.I would usually use WD-40 but I dont know if it will hurt the plastic.
Any input appreciated.
what I mean to say is the graphics are peeling off and look terrible .I want to remove what is left and the glue residue that is left.

Thanks
RWDIII :?

There's several ways for removing them from cars, mineral spirits, hair dryer, clothing steamers - and WD40 or cominations of the above. But the trialer is a different animal altogether.

WD-40 is probably your best bet. I'd think mineral spirits would likley cause damage but the hair dryer or steamer might work too if you're really careful not to use too much heat.

At any rate if you can find an incospicuous spot somewhere try spraying a little WD40 as a test.

I removed mine during the summer, using my finger nail to lift the edge, then just peeled them off. To remove the glue I used paint thinner. The outside shell of the trailers is not painted, its white acrylic/plastic and the thinner worked great. Afterwards I washed it and applied a good coat of wax.
