Some of you might recall I'm just dying to be able to dry camp longer than I was able to last year, the biggest issue having been the power-sucking heater in the fridge, which I did not know existed.
I found the proper jumper to disconnect and alas, the heater is no more.
Today, I walked over to the trailer's garage, unplugged the trailer from shore power, and turned on the fridge. Because it was so hot in the garage, the fridge fan was blowing its little brains out. I waited for the gas to catch.
My New Handy-Dandy Clamp Meter showed 0.91A! YAY. The temp on the side of the trailer was 94, the air coming out of the top fridge went was 109, and the temp at the ceiling of the 14' garage was 111.
I do believe that is doable with 200W of solar hooked up to my new Group 31 AGM battery. I use nothing else off the battery (okay - LP sensor, too).
I turned on the fridge 2-3 hours ago and the freezer is down to 22 and the fridge is at 66.
FINALLY - it's all coming together...whatta feeling.
