Easier way to post photos! Here's how

I tried uploading a simple black/white graphic. The page just spins and spins "UPLOADING".

Hmmm. Could be that the file size is too big. I had no trouble with 250 KB files but could not load 9 MB files. Also, is the graphic a jpeg file?

Both of those questions (the file size and the type of file) can be answered in Finder (if you have a Mac) or Explorer (if you are using Windows).

If the file is too big, there are utilities to compress the file size. Picasa used to be good for that, but I think it is no longer available.

It was only 44k. Just a black and white drawing of a dog inside a heart. I'll try again - DSL here in the deep country is not so good! :)

ON EDIT: tried it again - worked like a charm! That IS easy!

Hey -- I think I recognize a certain beast! That's a pretty good likeness -- did you have that professionally done?

And DSL? My sympathies. One of the few benefits of living in a dense urban area is that we have fiber-optic internet -- really, really fast and reliable.

I would drop it like a hot potato if I could live in the country.

Yes, living without noise and crowds and traffic does extract a price! Wouldn't trade it for anything, though!

That "certain beast" is a vinyl decal for Yeti tumblers that I made for a Bichon rescue group. Here's one I did for a Border Collie lover (gonna try your link again...). I have a digital cutter.

Now, I'm going to try a video...time passes...videos don't work. But I wanted to show you another advantage to living in the country...they come in to drink at my front pond. Deer and so many other creatures.

I love that site you showed us, Dan!

I have a big desktop MAC, a MacBook, a MacBook Pro, an iPad mini.... and all I really need is the iPhone 7plus and the iPad to download my photos to. I rarely use a computer anymore so there is no "sliding the photo over" for me.

We also have DSL because we live in a national forest 35 miles from the nearest freeway. But it works for us and is worth it.

Yes, once again I tried just posting the URL from Flickr. Didn't work.
Tried using this site's widget for urls at the top of the screen. (To the right of the "A"), Didn't work.
All I could see was a faint outline of a square. Not sure what others see.
I was just trying to post a test photo.
How did you do it?

"Just go to that site and drag a photo into the box ...."
Can't use your method on my iPhone. I have a URL from Flickr but this site won't accept it.

Sorry. Now I understand the problem -- not sure about a solution. When you click on the photo posting box, notice that "http" is already listed in that box. Delete that when you paste in the URL from Flickr. (You are probably already doing that.)

It is also possible that the file size of the photo on Flickr is too big for the Fun Finder site? Not sure if that is true, since the photo itself does not reside on the Fun Finder site. But maybe try downsizing the photo.

All of the photos I have posted here are in the 250 KB range. Photos taken on smartphones are often one MB or more. My DSLR takes photos that are sometimes 26 MB -- ouch! So I have to resize them for posting.

Michelle posted my test picture. Not sure how she did it. Photos say they are "re-sized" so this site must do that. I can post all of my photos to my gallery on here with no problems. So they must resize them.
Oh well, no big deal.

Don't feel bad. I don't take hardly any photos and never any luck posting them so gave up long ago.

I've used photobucket for about 10 years. It's slow because of all the ads but it has the same features.
Example:
Replacing the fuel pump on our TV ('95 G20 Chevy)
