Well, thanks to all the helpful advice and guidance I managed to get my trailer ready and headed out for my first camping trip in my FF 139X. I managed to get backed into a spot surrounded by trees (a few attempts were required but I didn't hit anything!). I hadn't thought through that backing in would mean that my door wasn't overlooking the lake, but I wasn't about to turn it around at that point. It was a great experience - I loved waking up in the morning and looking out at the blue sky and sunshine (since I hadn't closed the shades). I put coffee on first thing and it perked a lot faster than my little one-burner unit that I used to sit on the picnic table. It was also nice not having to haul my cooler in and out of the car continually (we put all our food away because of bears). I also slept better knowing it was going to be a bit harder for a bear to break in to my trailer than a tent. Driving there and back was quite a bit slower than I am used to driving and I did lug quite a bit going uphill - but I guess that is to be expected.
