Good morning all. I'm new to the Shadow Cruiser Community as I just purchased my Shadow Cruiser 313 BHS in February. Just took my first trip and the support for the flip up bunk pulled out of the wall. Anyone have this experience or have a good fix?

If your unit is new, perhaps a mfg defect and contacting the selling dealer would be worthwhile.

That's a good option but they have already fixed it once. They put to metal support brackets under the main supports for the bunk. The bunk says it's rated at 210 lbs but it broke once on the way home from the dealer and once after my first camping trip.

It's almost as if the wood is too soft to hold weight supporting screws.
I assume there are other flip up bunks so I can't be the only one having troubles :)

Yeah, I don't trust the supports for any of my bunks and would never put any child or person above anyone sleeping below. I use my twin upper bunk just for storage now, but what I did was to make four wooden posts in each corner. I couldn't permanently attach them since there is storage underneath my lower bunk. I cut them snug enough to stay in place though. This has worked well.

They missed the aluminum frame

When the screws that hold the angle supports were installed, they missed the square aluminum frame inside the walls. If you have a stud finder you can find the location of the frame inside the walls and put the screws in the correct locations. Mine has held 3 kids weighing in at a total of 150lbs bouncing around on there without issue.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you for the recommendation. I will have to see if I can fix that this weekend.
