We are in day 3 of our 40 day stay in Minden, Nevada. So far our 189fbs is working out to be fantastic!! We are finding out where to store everything as we go. The Carson Valley Inn Rv park is great!

Lots to do in and around Minden! I think there is a good Basque place in town -- if you eat there, let us know how it is.

If you have the time and the energy, there is lots of great hiking in the Sierras right nearby: Ebbetts Pass and Carson Pass. Not sure how much snow is left at the higher altitudes. Also check out Markleeville -- sort of an old-timey town.

Love the Fan-Tastic vent on this trailer! Acts as a whole house fan for driving out hot air or pulling in cold air. Cuts down on AC unit use in this climate with hot days and cool nights. The 189fbs is working fine for my wife and I and 2 small dogs!!

We had a 189fbs. We loved it and enjoyed many trips in it. But for us and our three medium sized dogs it was a problem so we bought a used 26’ fifth wheel. But there are times that we really miss the small size of that Funfinder. It was so maneuverable and we could even pick which side we wanted to face the dinette windows in some sites since we pulled it with a Jeep Liberty. I loved the white cabinets. We had to paint the whole interior of this Shasta. Enjoy!

Profdant139, yes there are several good Basque restaurants in town. The JT Bar and the Country Club restaurant are several we tried years ago. Since we are here 40 days till our house closes escrow, we are watching our budget. Katie’s in the CVI casino has a great pork chop dinner for $7.99 + 1.99 for a salad and Sharkey’s has great fish tacos for the same price. You can see the way our dining experiences are going!! This is a great RV park and we are enjoying this area and seeing our son and grandsons. The little 189fbs is working out great.

Hmmm . . . you're into bargains, I see. If I recall correctly, late in the evening, the coffee shop at the CVI sells a big container of excellent day-old cookies for $5.

I could be wrong. But if I am right, you are obligated to share them with your grandsons!

;)

I have to ask; what is a "Basque restaurant?"

Eagle, the Basque region of Spain has its own unique cuisine -- lots of garlic, lamb, onion, herbs. Hard to describe. Kind of like French from Provence, but heartier and more rustic.

And many Basques immigrated to the Intermountain West to work as shepherds during the mid to late 1800s, so they brought their recipes with them. Great food, and hard to find in large urban areas.
