I have decided to get a small travel trailer next year when I retire. I'm going to get either the 18 foot Fun Finder or Shadow cruise. Still a little confused about the difference between the two. Now the slides kinda worry me, I'm really don't want any leaks. All the negatives from a few of the owners here don't concern me much. You seldom hear from the happy owners of anything, they are enjoying their trailers, blenders, crockpots ect.. Glad I found this forum, and have read everything here. I'm going to be towing with a V6 Tundra short bed, should be fine from my research. We are going to our retirement home in Georgia soon. I'm renting the biggest Uhaul trailer they have to carry thing stuff home. I'm loading it to the max and going to practice backing, and all that stuff while I'm at it.

I would suggest that you look closely at those trailers that you are interested in. Sit in a slide equipped unit and then a non slide one and compare them by visulizing camping in them when it is raining out. We really like the extra room that is afforded by our slide and have never had a problem with it. Becareful with that UHaul as you can get a lot of weight in a big one but might be useful for trailer totting practice.
Good Luck and enjoy camping in a Cruiser Built Trailer,

My dad gave me a good piece of advice when shopping for (and towing) a trailer. He said it's not what you can tow, but what you can stop.

Just remember to give yourself lots of extra braking time. When I've been towing mine a lot and unhitch, my son says he still notices the difference in my driving...that I'm much less aggressive than I would be otherwise.
