Just bought my first Travel Trailer - X210.
Very excited, trying to learn all the little stuff.

What size generator will I need to run the micro/ac/tv and outlets?
Thanks for any help.

Simple answer... The bigger the better.

The problem with Generators is that you need enough power for "startup".

A/C uses almost double the amount of power just to start than it uses while running.

Most people will buy a 3000 Watt gen. This should be able to run everything good. Although you'll probably have to not use the micro when using the a/c.

Also, I recommend getting a quiet generator. Usually the model # has an "i" behind it. Not sure why. But that is what I have seen for the quieter models.
Your camping neighbors will appreciate it.

Generator

I recently purchased a X210 and I did a lot of research on generators. I ended up buying a Honda 3000 Watt. This would be the minimum to run your AC and a few lights. When your AC starts up it pulls up to 2800 Watts then reduces. If you jump up in Wattage size on generators the price really jumps up too. You can run dual 2000 watt generators but that seemed like twice the upkeep to me. Even with the 3000 watt I would turn off the AC to run the microwave since it also pulls a lot of wattage. Honda is the best bet since it is very quiet and has a power saving feature that makes it even quieter. I bought mine mostly for the NASCAR races. Run a regular generator and you might wake up to find it in the local pond because of noise they make. I liked the larger model because the new more portal model they make only runs a few hours due to the gas tank size.

Check out the Yamaha 2400is. They will run your a/c and few lights but if you want to run the micowave you will have to shut the a/c off. They are nice and Cabelas has them for 1195.oo

Hi I have 2 honda 2000 they work great and if one goes down for any reason we always have the other for back up for lights tv things like that. hope that helps bill

Not running AC

What size generator if I don't need the AC....? I assume the next largest consumer is the Microwave.... If its 900 watts a 1KW should do it...?
