My wife and I are planning a trip to Helen Georgia, any suggestions on campgrounds to stay at. We have a fun finder 21 1/2 ft.

Moccasin Creek, about 30 min North on Lake Burton, sand a stocked Trout stream, it is State Ga campground, great place and eat at Laprades about a mile from there.

Unicoi SP is also a good option, and it's very close to Helen. There's an easy 3.5mi hike from the campground into downtown Helen. We like to walk down in the morning, eat/drink during the day, then walk back. Good way to burn off the calories! If the mileage is more than you like, it's an easy drive into town. The town is pretty cheesy, but it's fun to walk around. Lots of different tourists visit - especially in the fall. Every restaurant on the strip will cost you more - it's a tourist spot. First place on the right coming into town from Unicoi is Haufbrau Haus. Nice spot on the river for a sampler platter & beer. Best grub is Big Daddy's off the strip, and the best pizza & cold beer is on the other side of town past the strip - Nacoochee Village Tavern & Pizza.
