hi

We bought a used x-160 and were "newbies" ourselves. Can't be of much help with the technical stuff, but can tell you the few things we've learned.
1) have good communication when backing into a site- can't tell you how much it ruins a day to have your husband yelling at you!
2) make sure your campground has sewer hook-ups or you better have a "honey" cart thingy to empty your tanks in once you are parked and level and those babies fill up. Our 1st campground didn't have hook ups and we weren't prepared for that. Major bummer!
3) When you aren't using the city water, turn it off at the main. We didn't do this and came back to a busted water hose outside from all the pressure. Luckily it was outside and not in our camper!
4) Don't know if the fridge is the same in all, but ours doesn't have a compressor (or so I learned on this site) and if you want it to store food during your travel, you are gonna want to hook it up at home 1 or even better 2 days in advance and it must be on VERY LEVEL ground in order to cool properly.

I'm sure there is much more useful info to be had, but that is some major pointers to start! Just remember it's supposed to be fun and a vacation!

My biggest problem is to remember everything when getting ready to leave the campground. Thus I have made a checkoff list. You may want to do something similar, but modify to your camper.

INSIDE:
o Refrigerator on LP 0r 12V
o Brace Fridge Door With Spring Rod
o TV Antenna Down
o Hot Water Tank Off
o Close Roof Vent

OUTSIDE:
o Raise Stabilizer Jacks & Door Step
o Disconnect Electric & Water
o Chairs / Tables Stored
o Secure Awning (Tighten Handles)
o Lock Range Vent Flap
o Hitch Ball Locked
o Safety Chains Attached
o Brake Safety Cable Attached
o Remove Wheel Levelers & Store
o Check Trailer Running & Brake Lights

new 210 things to remember

Thanks to you both!! Great things to remember! I am going to make a check list! Wish the dealer would give you one!!
