Just took our travel trailer out of storage and started de-winterizing it. We are selling our house in Klamath Falls , Oregon and moving to the Carson City area of Nevada. The house we are buying closes a month after the one we’re selling, so it will be the wife and I and our 2 small dogs in a 19’ trailer for 32 days straight! Thank God we bought the 189fbs last November or we’d be homeless!

Good luck! Fortunately, this is not the rainy season, so you can spend a lot of time outdoors without getting cabin fever. Are you staying in an RV park in Nevada?

I am sure you know this, but the camping on the eastern side of the Sierra is amazing -- maybe even better than the Klamath Falls area.

We are staying at the Carson Valley Inn RV Park most of the time. We can use the spa, pool and gym while we are there. Our son lives in nearby Gardnerville. Then we are staying at Kit Carson RV campground for a few days in Hope Valley area in the Sierra Nevada mountains. What areas east of the Sierras do you recommend?

The whole eastern slope from Markleeville all the way down to Bishop -- if you hike, mountain bike, or fish, it's heaven. Sonora Pass, Twin Lakes, Green Lake, Virginia Lakes, Tioga Pass, June, Mammoth, Bishop Creek -- a series of deep canyons running eastward from the crest down toward the high desert. The trailheads are all at high altitude, making it easy to get into the alpine zone. Waterfalls, streams, wildflowers, views that run for 200 miles in every direction.

World class scenery, right nearby! (Near you. For us, it is a long drive!)
