Indoor/unheated storage vs outdoor/covered storage

In the 10+ years that we’ve had our ‘07 x210 FF, we’ve always stored it in a large unheated pole barn. At first the fee was $25/month but has been creeping up. Last year it was $35/month and I’m expecting $40/month for the upcoming Winter. I’m trying to decide whether to store indoors or to get a quality fabric cover and store on the pad in my yard. I see a great many RVs stored outdoors and uncovered in large storage lots as well as a few stored in yards with fabric covers. I’m pretty sure that I can get a cover that will last several years for near or even less than the cost of one season of my current storage situation. What are the pros and cons of outdoor storage with a quality fabric cover?

I keep my FunFinder 210uds at home with a cover. If you have high winds like we do, get one made of Oxford cloth as they say it is 3-4 times more rip resistant. I got mine on Amazon for about $200 including wheel and power jack covers.

Would it be possible for you to post a link to the cover that you have?

Not that familiar with parachutes, so I can't say! Top and corners are thicker than the sides. Had 4-5 windstorm over 50mph with no rips. Only had the cover for one winter, so only time will tell how long it lasts! Had an Adco cover on a previous trailer that seemed thicker, but had many tears in 3 years.

I see your Wi. I bought a canvas tarp at Menards to stop any possible interaction from the plastic cover. Then I found heavy duty greenhouse cover cutoffs and zip tied 2 together for the right length. Only downside is it's fairly heavy. Don't use it now since I built a trailer port to park it under.

In a perfect world, I would have (or perhaps, should have had) a covered “trailer pad” off the side of my garage. I don’t thinks that’s part of any future plans 🙁.
After looking at several online purchases options and reading lots of reviews, I’m going to forego getting a cover for my FF and continue with indoor storage even if the cost increases. While most reviews were good, there were enough bad reviews (mostly saying how easily the fabric would tear) to give me pause. The last thing I would want to be doing is replacing a torn cover in the middle of the Winter! I guess it’s just one on those “one less thing to worry about” situations.
