lighting a 2 burner stove top

the burner lights but does not stay lit !

I do not have a battery connected , do i need a 12v source for the stove ?

If the propane tank is not low then maybe check out the regulator. I was just reading here:

that the regulator should be replaced once in a while even if it doesn't fail.

the trailer I just bought was used and the propane was not connected for a few years
there was dirt in the connection at the tank, cleaned it out and all is well
