Lithium Battery

Well I made the Jump to the Lithium battery craze. I purchased a 100 AH battery. It was my intention to just charge the battery with a portable Lithium battery charger when needed but now I am thinking of replacing whatever I need to replace so the battery will charge while towing or plugged into shore power of hook ups.

Has anyone made the conversion and is it complicated. U tube makes it look do able.

Your right about one thing, not all battery chargers are safe to charge up a lithium battery with. Be careful.

I just completed upgrading to Lithium. Installed two 300AH Epoch batteries (moved them inside) and changed the onboard charger to a WFCO "AD" (auto detect) charger - Also installed 400 watt solar and mounted a generator on the trailer tongue. It was not complicated to change the charger out for one that charges lithium, just contact your local RV part dealer for a replacement charger from WFCO. Takes less than 10 minutes.

Sounds good. Ill research what type of charger I have and give it a try. I believe I am gong to try to move my battery inside the trailer also. I am afraid someone will walk off with my fancy new battery. I had a group 31 on the hitch, that thing must have weighed 40 pounds not so easy to slide off the hitch because i have a storage bracket also on the hitch and it makes it harder to install and remove the battery. Lithium is so light it will be easily removed.

My WFCO fried my marine batteries and replaced them with two 100 Amp gel cells. At the same time I added a Renogy 20 Amp DC-DC charger in series with the WFCO output to properly charge the batteries. Just a few years later the Renogy has died and I just purchased a Wegan 25 Amp DC-DC Charger which includes MPPT for Solar charging. The Wegan technology and the support appears 10X better than Renogy. It was also much cheaper to order directly from Wegan rather then Amazon. You might want to check out their products as on reason I purchased Wegan is that they have a Lithium charge mode.
