2006 X-14 fun finder….

Each year before the first trip, I usually do general maintenance. Lube the wheel bearings using the zerk fittings, sanitize the fresh water tank, give her a good bath and wax....

This summer I am going on a 14 day trip driving just over 2000 miles. At first I was going to take it to my local RV dealer and ask them to ensure there was nothing they see as wrong....but I got to thinking, why not just do it myself…as I usually do my own maintenance on my cars.

We have already done one short camping trip with no issues...and we will do another 500 mile trip before the big trip this summer....

Besides the wheel bearing and checking the brakes (although they seem to be working just fine) is there anything else I should look at before hitting the road? Any suggestions would be great...

good idea to flush water heater, just as you would do with home water heater, easy to check anode since you pull it to drain and flush anyway.
remember to keep circuit live in trailer while driving to car charges your batteries

Check the tire pressure
Check torque of the lug nuts
Fill the propane tanks and check function of the stove, water heater & furnace
Check all lights so functional .. inside and outside
Check refrigerator operation on gas & electric

I do a once over of my entire until and all appliances before going out on a trip. Check and double check eliminates possible difficulties on the road.

Thanks for the replys and sorry for the late return back to my question:

We have been out camping twice. I have found a couple things wrong of which I have replaced. I think I am going to just check the breaks and maybe take the tires to a shop for inspection.

Thx again, I think she is almost ready to go.
