The original dinette table was a bit too wide for us "fluffy" folks to be comfortable and it was heavy as all get out. I had some decent looking 3/4" plywood laying around, so I made a new one. It is 3" narrower than the original which makes it much more comfortable for us to sit at. I flipped the upper male wall mounts (the one's attached to the table) so they pointed down and lowered the hardware that was mounted on the wall. I reused the folding leg. For now, I'll make a slat system that can fill the space between the benches so the dinette can be used as a bed. My wife wants to eventually take out the dinette and build in a sofa/sleeper, but for now, this will do. I still need to come up with something to cover the old mounting holes so it looks better.

Mt - Thanks. I need the bigger table for drawing kitchens while working out of town. When we convert the dinette to a sofa sleeper, I'll move this table to the front of the trailer and put it on a pedestal base.

Always interested in and amazed at the ingenuity and talents shown on the forum.

Great job.

What model camper do you have? If you have a 189fbr, the front has the water tank water pump and the pass thru storage. Are you going to remove all of that to make it open enough to put the table over there? I would love a front dinette but I can't afford to lose all that storage LOL

Liz - You saw the pics of the front bed area mod I did. I was going to try and use this table, but we like the small one I made for up front. We are going with a dinette to couch conversion like yours, so I may try and figure a way to use this table in a different form (ie - cut down)

By the way, I really like that new plywood table much prettier than the old one!
