We are the new owners of a 16 ft fun finder. We had never heard of them and saw one foe sale and fell in love . We are from cold Minnesota and the plan is to sell our house and travel for one year in it and figure out what state should be our new home. We need to buy something to pull it with. Any suggestions? Hoping for a second hand van. Can a front wheel van pull? SUV? What is best for gas ? Something 3 to 5 years old .

First and foremost you need to know the weight of the trailer fully loaded (based on Cruiser RV spec sheet for max GVWR) and then also the tow rating for any vehicle you are considering. The tow rating should be at least 20% higher than the actual trailer weight. I've towed small boats great distances with front wheel drive vehicles with no issues but I'm not sure about heavy loads. You might look into that further. You might need a weight distribution hitch to get more weight back onto the front axle so that the tires don't lose traction due to the tongue weight on the rear of the vehicle.

We would like a van to have room to store more , but not sure it can pull. .trailer -dry weight is 2175 lbs., GVWR 3690 lbs, hitch weight 225 lbs. any suggestions?

Every year Trailer Life magazine publishes a towing guide that gives the ratings for pretty much every vehicle you could possibly think of towing with. It also has a section that explains the commonly used terms. You can find it on the internet.
I would think a full size GMC or Ford or Chrysler van would meet your needs.

Hammycat, you sound like us. We plan to start visiting places we might like to retire too. But we're from Texas and tired of living in an oven. lol At 7pm today it was still 101.

So I guess I shouldn't complain at our 7 PM temps at 91 with 89% humidity

Oh yeah, you can complain about 89% humidity. It probably feels as bad as 100.

I pulled my 2008 X-160 Fun Finder with a Toyota Sienna van, including a trip from TN to Alaska and back. No problems.
