Hi everyone!

I've been following the forums on here for a while and finally decided to join up. I'm in my second year with my "new to me" FF and am loving it! Bought the trailer before I had the vehicle to tow it! So then I bought my Envoy that tows my 25 foot TT with ease!

Being a single lady I can tell you it’s all been a big learning experience for me! (Especially learning to back up! ) Lol. But, so far, I’ve only made a couple of bone-head errors and have learned oodles !

So far I’ve only camped in my local area, but do get out once a month for a long weekend or couple weeks at a time. And have already booked for Aug, Sept and Oct!

One of these days I will venture farther away from home, but for now, when I’m parked among the trees, I could be anywhere really, without driving hours! And we have beautiful sandy beaches on the north shores of Lake Erie adjacent to fabulous parks to camp in.

Hi Dawn, welcome to the forum. We're in northwest Michigan by Lake Michigan. We just bought ours in January. We are camping in Michigan this year. Our tow vehicle would not be good in mountains. Enjoy!!

Welcome to the group, I have had a RV since 2005 and recently bought a TT. There are still tricks and lessons to learn. Welcome! Super proud of you, and the other gals, to venture out on your own! Right now, I'm not brave enough to do any of the hooking up, towing, setting up and taking down on my own! One of these days, maybe....

Aw Kansas Newbie! You can do it! It's not hard and gets easier each time. The hardest for me ( cuz I'm 5'2" and only 105 lbs) is lifting and carrying the hitch because mine is big and really heavy. It has the anti sway bars that hook into it. And the damn pin that locks into it is a sumbitch to get in, so it's difficult to wiggle the hitch around to match the holes up! And the sway bars are a tad heavy too. But I must admit, it sure has gotten my arm and shoulder muscles into shape! LOL

The hardest ( and scariest) for me was backing it up! But I'm getting better and more confident at that!

As for those who have 'backing issues' it gets easier each time you do it. And from my experience of 10/12 years transporting manufactured homes up to 16' wide and 85' long, it's easier to park an 85' unit than a small, shorter unit.

Using only pull in sites can keep you from enjoying many of the prettier sites. Our small trailers can fit into very small sites that only tenters and short RVs could use. At a recent campsite Paul was able to pull in front first and then maneuver the Liberty out of the site in order to get our awning side facing the lake and more privacy. He is really good at maneuvering all of our trailers. But 11 months on the road with our fifth wheel helped.
