Folks,

We've ordered and will soon pick up a 214WSD. I've already started contemplating modifications and additions.

To make modifications easier it would be helpful to have complete as-built documentation for the trailer. Is that available or provided when one buys a trailer from CruiserRV? Specifically, documentation about structure, electrical and plumbing systems would be useful.

I can see why the manufacturer might view this as competitive information and wouldn't want it widely known, but some access by owners of their products is necessary.

So what do we get, where can we get what we don't have or is it typical to work without documentation?

Are there any CruiserRV employees lurking in the forum that can help out?

Thanks,

The dealer should supply you with manuals for all of the appliances and add ons or things supplied by manufacturers other than Cruiser. Things like the AC, heater, stove, awning, microwave, etc. As far as any internal wiring or plumbing diagrams you're out of luck as far as I know. On the other hand most of it is not all that complicated. You can pretty easily trace out where wiring and plumbing is routed, and in a lot cases can access it directly from beneath the trailer or in the back of the cabinets.

Ditto on what LJAZ said... You can contact CruiserRV and they will supply framing details. I got a complete set of framing prints for my 210WBS, but, they would not release any electrical or plumbing schematics. My best guess is that the factory has a rough blueprint, but, the actual finished product is a "this is close enough" type deal and if they provided schematics that didn't match the finished product there could be problems if a DIY project shorted out the whole shebang.

Thanks for the responses. You are absolutely correct: wrong documentation or schematics are worse than none at all. I will follow up with the factory to try to get the framing docs as those help with lots of stuff.
