Whenever we travel, we try to get a shot of the trailer "in the wild." (This is partly because it is such a cute little trailer, and partly because we do not yet have grandchildren or a dog, so we have to do something to compensate.) So it occurred to me that other folks may have done the same thing?

In any event, I will start it off --- this was taken at 9000 feet in the Eastern Sierra, in a "boondocking" campsite, i.e., not a campground. (The Forest Service permits dispersed camping near forest roads.) It was a cold and clear evening in late May, a couple of days after a snowstorm, and this was taken about an hour after sundown (which is why the sky in the West is still a little light):

All right, it's your turn. Here are the rules: there are no rules. You can post as many shots as you want. But you get extra credit if the Fun Finder or Shadow Cruiser logo is visible!

(On edit -- my original photo was too big. The URL, compiled by Blogger, included the term "s1600." After much trial and error, I discovered that I could paste the code into the img tag, as usual, and then change the offending term to s800. Problem solved. So if you see references in the following posts to my overly-large file, that's why.)

Okay, so you asked for honesty...yes, it's too big. I had to shrink my laptop screen way down to fit the entire picture on the screen. Doing so made the text practically unreadable. :)

My first thought that I was going to comment was that I know for certain any picture I post will pale in comparison to your photography that makes me drool to be at the places you have visited...then when I blew the screen back up, I saw you comment asking about the size...

Sometimes, size does matter. Just sayin'.

PS: Isn't there a way to embed a set size into the HTML IMG tag? I'm going to go try and look that up...

Getting gas in Canada on the way to Alaska (2012)...equivalent of $6.88/gallon!

That trip, my wallet saw more action than my little trailer! :) And I'd do it over again in a heartbeat.

I like the plastic pipe on the tongue is that for the sewer hose or something else. Might even work for fishing poles.

WOW .... I just saw this post now .... Great idea Dan. I'll be a regular contributor although our pics won't be as scenic as yours, but rest assured, we'll be "having fun"

I love big pics especially if the resolution supports it. Heck with the text, it's about the visuals. You might try the Tiny Pic hosting site as I posted. I use their largest size and haven't had any trouble getting my pics to display here (and they look awesome - from a technical standpoint) :D

Love the "No Sniveling" sign

Oh by the way ... your photo at the top Dan is so totally awesome ... I love it. It is truly inspiring.

Yes, Mike - it's for the sewer hose. My husband did that one, and I liked it so much, I put one on my new Fun Finder, except on the underside, since this trailer is SO much taller than my first one.

A small note for all you people who can safely use drills - on the first one, I asked hubby to put small, drilled holes in the bottom to drain any excess water and to vent moisture. Well, those drills holes, coming from the outside in, made rough spots on the inside of the pipe, big enough to catch and tear the hose.

So, with this new one, I found a plastic vented cap that fits nicely, although I bought two for when the first one flies off and is lost forever. Unless, maybe someone has a hint on how to secure it?

Here's a shot of my Fun Finder having fun last year in New Mexico, heading to MX.

Oh, wait - that WASN'T fun. But that little Fun Finder was heading toward barrels of fun...snow and ice just got in the way for a bit.

"I got the pipe attached." she said while patting herself on the back...

I used those metal circular things with holes and a screw that tightens them.

What I can't figure out how to secure is the end cap that is slotted (for air flow). I know someday it will end up Gone With The Wind.

What I did to keep the hose from falling out was put a long screw threw the PVC pipe and a wing nut on the end.

If it wasn't so dang cold, I'd take a picture of my Girlie Handiwork...it's a sight to behold, I tell you...

Well done, Michelle!

For the end cap, you might just be able to wrap a thin layer of duct tape around the end of the pipe, so that the cap fits tightly and does not blow off.

Just for extra insurance, then drill a small hole in the side of the end cap and thread a short piece of parachute cord (or any thin strong cord) through the hole, tie a knot, and then do the same with the other end of the cord, with a hole in the side of the pipe. That way, if the cap blows off, it will dangle by the cord and entertain the drivers following your trailer!

Good idea! Thanks.
Now, if I can only find where I last stored my parachute!! ;)

I will do that IF it ever warms up here!

Unfortunately, we don't have a particularily scenic campsite view, but we are here for 4 weeks and I guarantee you, we are "finding fun". If you care to join in on the fun or looking to confirm the validity of my statement, check our blog frequently as I'll be updating it on a regular basis.
