Can anybody shed some light on how we can take our satellite service with us on the road in the travel trailer? Here is the run down...
1. We used to have Dish, but are now on Direct.
2. We have a Dish dish minus the "eyes". They made us ship those back when we changed to Direct.
3. We have a tripod for the dish.
4. We have coax with 2 connectors.
5. The "in" jack on our FF is a single connector.

What do we need to do to make this work or if we need to start over, what is the most cost efficient way to do so? Thanks for any input from you camping veterans out there.

First thing is to check your owners manual to see if your satellite dish is compatible with DirecTV. If it is the only difference will be plugging in your converter box from DTV the same as you would have with the DISH box. If it's not then you'll need a new satellite dish that is compatible with DTV.

I believe the 2 coax connectors are so you can watch one channel while you record another. You won't be able to do that without installing another coax cable.

Hmmm. . .
Many of the dishes or reflectors are the same size. So you might get away with using the same dish.
The "eyes" I'm guessing you're referring to the LNB-the thing that is at the end of the "arm" pointing at the dish.
The LNB is what pulls the signal from the satellite-you will need one that works with the DirecTV satellites.
Not sure how successful it will be to piece together a system. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Check with direct TV, I know they have the portable systems for RVs. They used to be free with your service but I think there is now a charge for them, since you already have some of the equipment maybe they will give you a break on the cost.
