Problem with Carbon Monoxide detector?

I just purchased a used 2008 Fun Finder 250 DS from an individual and the trailer is in great shape. The one issue she had with it was that the carbon monoxide detector went off and she could not get it to shut off so she pulled the fuse to it. This being a safety device I certainly want to get it fixed. I just picked it up today so I have not looked into the problem at all yet. The first thing I'll do is make sure there is not a carbon monoxide leak so no worries there. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had any issues or past experiences with this and knew if there was a reset or if this meant the unit might actually be defective.

Replace After 5 years

Not sure of your camper's set up, but most campers have a LP and Carbon Monoxide detector hardwired to a 12-volt source. It's usually near the floor because that's where CO2 and LP gas tend to collect.
The other is the smoke detector (sometimes referred to as a carbon monoxide detector), it's usually ceiling mounted because thats where smoke likes to go.
So - if it's the LP & CO2 detector - I've got a 2012 UDS and ours started false alarming 2 years after we bought it. They should be replaced every 5 years. Suggest you just put in a new one: Amazon.com: MTI 35-742BR Brown LP and Carbon Monoxide Flush Mount Detector: Automotive
We only have had one false alarm-which we affectionately blame on dogs.

My LP/CO2 detector will give a false alarm when it picks up aroma from my Honda 2000i generator stored inside ~ or from a black water tank not properly treated.

When either situation is corrected, it does not alarm.

Just FYI and my experience.

Thanks for the help!! Your right, it probably just needs to be replaced. It is the sensor located just off the ground so it must be for the LP and looks to match the one on the link sent by Runner421.

Thanks again for the help, I'm sure as I spend more time with the trailer I will have more questions and this looks like a great place to get help from the subject matter experts. Hopefully one day I can play it forward!!
