Hi!
I am new here. I purchased a 2006 fun finder P160 in June. I purchased it from a private party. I cannot get the refrigerator to turn on either buy gas or electric also I cannot get the vent cover on the roof to open any suggestions would be so much appreciated!

Hmmm. Did it work when you inspected the trailer prior to purchase? Have you contacted the prior owner?

Second, when you push the "on" button, do any lights light up at all? That is a key diagnostic step -- if no lights at all, you are not getting power to the fridge. There is a plug inside the vent (accessible from the outside) -- make sure it is plugged into the socket.

I'll wait for answers to those diagnostic questions before launching into the "now try this" stuff.

Also, when you say the vent on the roof won't open, do you mean the vent over the bathroom? What happens when you crank the crank in the bathroom?

Keep asking questions!!

Yep. That is a very good place to start. What size battery do you have -- group 24 or 27 or 31?

In any event, get a new one -- who knows how the old owner maintained it? And get a Battery Minder or something similar, to keep it charged up at all times. That will hugely extend the life of your battery. Letting it die will cause it to really, really die. Don't ask how I know this. Very expensive lesson for me.

Once you put the new battery in (make sure the battery kill switch is in the ON position), let us know how it is going.

Hang in there. Yes, there is a steep learning curve for trailering, but it is incredibly worth-while. We were all newbies once. I hope you can learn from our mistakes!!

As for your vent cover, it may just be stuck. See if you can get it to budge by hand. Just pull up on it a bit and see if the seal is sticking to the cover. If so you'll need to get some silicone spray and lube the seal and clean the edge of the cover.
