We have a 2013 X189FDS. I would like to remove the two kitchen drawers near the stove and improve on the catches to keep them closed during travel. Can anyone give me directions on how to remove the drawers? I have read things on pushing and pulling the little black plastic tabs on the side of the slide hardware but have not had any luck.

The tabs are on the face end of the slide. First open fully, then hold one up and the other down and continue to pull drawer out.

To reinstall just line up and push in

Latches

I installed external drawer latches. They are very simple: picture a long drywall screw. Now bend it in a 90 degree angle. (I heated the vertex with a propane torch so it would bend easily without breaking.)

Screw it into the cabinet next to the drawer front. Close the drawer, rotate the latch, and it keeps the drawer closed. I covered it in clear plastic tubing so that it does not scratch the paint.

Not elegant. But it works, and it is easy to use.

KEEPING DRAWERS CLOSED

Having trouble with keeping your cabinet drawers closed? We cut small squares from a roll of 3M self adhesive Velcro and applied them to the inside corners of the drawers. Works great! No more OPEN drawers when we travel.

Keeping drawers closed.

Simple is best for rough roads . We got tired of open drawers.
The fix was to put a screw eye tops and bottom near the side of the drawers. A nice bungee cord is attached. This slips off for camping and is quickly secured for travel.
