We are going to upgrade to LED lights and I tried to remove the existing bulb without much luck. Before I force it and probably break something is there a trick to it? The bulb has a white base that looks to just snap in but a reasonable tug does not work. Any suggestions?

Thanks

From your description the bulbs are probably a 191 model. They just pull straight out. If one is tough to pull out try other bulbs to verify that they just pull out.

Depending on which replacement bulbs you chose they might also take some effort to put the new bulbs in. I just installed T10 LED bulbs in and they took some effort to get the new bulbs in.

When removing my original incandescent wedge base bulbs, I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers, very gently. I cushioned the prongs of the pliers with a layer of duct tape. And plugging in the new LED bulbs took some effort, too.

Also, when you plug in the new bulbs, make sure that the contact wires on the sides of the wedge are slightly spread apart so that they can touch the sides of the socket.
