Replacing Window Seal

Over the winter one of the side windows by the dinette on our 06' 189FD developed a bit of a leak, so after doing some reading online, I figured the best course of action was to remove the window, ensure there was no rott, and replace the seal with some butyl tape. So yesterday I pulled the window out, and low and behold, there was no seal - the only thing keeping water out was the caulking around the outside of the window! Is that standard for our trailers? It makes me a bit nervous about the rest of the windows now.

Either way I don't think this one should ever leak again now - may decide to pull the rest out just to be sure!

No seal at all??

Wow. When I fixed my leak on my old trailer, there was a seal, but it had deteriorated. So far, I have had no leaks on my new 2012 trailer, but I live in a dry climate and almost never tow in the rain.
