can you help? we went out for our first trip and with our 4 point sway bar attached to the the trailer and was still rocking back and forth and at one point i thought we were going to lose the 14' fun finder. i could go only 58mph. anything over that gets to hard to handle.

Without knowing much of the details it could be that your Equalizer hitch isn't set up properly, or the tires could be underinflated, or could be your trailer tongue weight is too light. If you have too much cargo in the back end of the trailer, positioned aft of the axle, it can reduce the tongue weight.

rocking

i do have a 5' metal rack welded to to rear with a bike rack and was carring two adult bikes. i'm not sure how to adjust the 4 point sway if that would help since i may not have enough tongue weight. is there a web site that shows the proper installation of the sway? p.s. the fresh water tank was empty

My sway bar is a 2 point set up, but I find it to be totally unnecessary. Could you perhaps be referring to your weight distribution set up? Mine is also 4 points of contact. If that the case, you may want to adjust which link of the chain you're on (if yours has the chain).

Since you said '4 point' I assumed you meant you had an Equal-i-zer brand WD hitch with built in antisway. If you don't have a manual you can download one from their website:

http://www.equalizerhitch.com/

I'd recommend measuring your hitch weight. It should be about 10-15% of the total trailer weight.

You Tube has several videos on the Equal-i-zer hitch use/set-up that you may find beneficial.

Here is one:

Also it depends on what kind of tires you have, ours came wit cheap "duro bias ply" tires our trailer had a lot of sway with those tires , I switched to radials and that made a world of difference.
Also like other posters mentioned, be sure to load your trailer properly, put some weight to the front.
