How can I find out what material my roof is made of. can any weight be put'on it?

Your roof should be an EPDM membrane material glued down over a substrate of 1/2 to 5/8 plywood or composite (depends on the year of manufacture and model; you don't mention what CruiserRV product you have :( )

If you mean by "put weight on it", can you walk on it? If that's what you're curious about, then, by all means you can walk on it if you are under 400 lbs or so... (if you weigh that much you shouldn't be on a ladder to get up there! ) If you want to know if you can put some kind of luggage rack up there and tow it with a load on the roof; NO. The roof will take walking on for maintenance and cleaning, but, it was not designed to take additional long term loading, nor is the EPDM sturdy enough to have a load sliding around on it while traveling.

If you want to get up there for an "inspection" (and you should do that at least annually, I do mine twice a year at least) or to install a cover over a vent, etc., or put a cover on the trailer; be sure to wear shoes with soft soles, don't "twist" on the balls of your feet and don't step close to the edges of installed skylights, vents, pipes, etc. as you may cause enough "flex" to break the seal and allow moisture under the sealant. Also don't get too close the edge...it is a long way down.

2010 xt-245

Thanks and I'm sorry I forget model helps. I am a newbie owner & forum talk. I purchased a used 2010. Xt245a.. can't wait to take it out can't believe I have to winterize it before I even use it.

I have a 2008 and it has a TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin). This is a bit different than webslave's EDPM roof. It's quite possible that they switched roof types again for your model, so check your manual or call cruiser before buying selants or cleaning products. I would avoid any excess weight on the roof. Enjoy your new trailer!

roof material on a xt-245 Fun finder

Well I put in a call to get an idea of my roof material but had to leave a message. Have not heard back from them for 2 days now. :( Hows everyone else contacting them I called a 260-562-1075 this is the 1 I left a msg on & the 866-277-5630 I never got any options that fit.

Everyone said they had good luck contacting them so I tried it.

Roof tips

Patty, you could call your dealer and ask -- they will know. And it might be a good idea to put a piece of plywood flat on the roof if you want to stand up there -- it will spread the weight more evenly. Probably not necessary, but I am one of those overcautious people.

Thanks for the response. The dealer I purchased it from. Is not a true FF dealer I bought it used. But I suppose I can check can't hurt Thanks.
