We have a 2010 Shadow Cruiser 185 (no slide) and would like to travel with bunk over the back bed in the open position. Does anyone know if there is a structural reason this bunk should be closed while travelling? We would like to use it for lightweight storage (coats, laundry, etc.) on short trips. Glad we found this forum - this is our first posting - lots of great information! Thanks!

I'm just guessing there is not horrible reason to have it down, It will just bounce around maybe mark up the side or something.... :)

I travel with mine at a 45 degree angle hanging by small chain at the front slide bolts. I store sleeping bags and other lighweight stuff on the top bunk. This permits me enough headroom to use the lower bunk as a sofa, so its pretty much in this configuration all the time.

Bunk up or down

Thanks for the suggestions. We were concerned about stress on the side rails if we kept the bunk completely open but the chains sound like a good option. Always looking for more storage space!
