After a month of tweaking, adjusting and modifying, we are going to finally camp in our 276 tomorrow night. Well in the back yard anyway. This is to find the "little things" before our 3 month, zig zig the country trip this summer.

First finding, when using the gas water heater it feels like the water hose will melt from the heat. The hose fitting is directly over the the water heater exhaust. Anybody have a problem with this?

Shower was ok until I took the water restrictor out of the shower head. Wow, what a difference that made.

Well, tomorrow we lock the house and live in then camper for 24 hours. In July we go from Florida to Washington state, down the Pacific coast, stop in Las Vegas to visit grand babies and back to Florida. About 8,000 miles. I want to catch as many of the "little things" as possible before that trip.

We upgraded our shower head first thing. Pressure still not what my long haired wife would like but I use an in line water regulator anyway. It does out out more pressure when on the pump verses the shore water with regulator.

Camping in the yard went well. We didn't even get scared  No issues to report. And here is THE most important part: my wife liked it. New foam mattress was comfortable. The "extend a shower" rod worked great, made the shower space better. Worth the $40. TV in dinning area sagged when extended so I made a wood support for it. All the additions I made seem to work well.

I hope I don't jinx myself, but I think I am almost there.

Safe Travels

Have a safe trip. I've made 3 trips from TN to the west coast towing our trailer. Rockies and Cascades were a challenge.

Thanks. Leaving July 10, so I will have a few more posts before heading west. We are doing 3 months this time. Longest trip before this was 2 months. Can't believe DW agreed. Usually she is the voice of reason.

We are going diagonally from Florida to Washington state, down the pacific coast to Yosemite, over to Las Vegas to see grand babies, back across to Georgia for a reunion and then back to Florida.

The entire trip is subject to change based on weather or how we feel. The only non-negotiable part of the trip is the seeing the grand babies in Las Vegas.

Friends are going with us in their 24 foot Hyperlite XLR. We both have Road Glide Ultras, so if you want to meet us along the way for a ride, we are open. :D

You probably won't get that close to me here in NE South Dakota.

IF you pass thru Shreveport LA, about 20 miles east of Shreveport is where Bonnie & Clyde were killed. I used to get to Shreveport often years ago, and never knew Bonnie & Clyde were killed so close by.

Lots to see on that trip, enjoy and be safe!

I have a couple more. Misplaced one that had a construction box with nothing but a big nose in it... :(

Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills is a great place........been there many, many times.

Been to Yellowstone 3 or so times and stopping in Cody Wyoming on the east side is a must to visit the Cody Museum. GREAT PLACE! And south of of Yellowstone is Jackson Hole Wyoming........great scenery off to the west.

:D
