Space between bathroom and fridge

We have a 2006 189fbr. I really want more storage space. Has anyone made a “skinny” pantry in the space between the bathroom and fridge? Is there anything there that would discourage this?

Although I don't have that particular model (and have a different floorplan), there is often wasted space next to the fridge or on top of it. It is ok to use that space, as long as there is air circulation around the back of the fridge, where the coils are located.

By the way, you might be able to get a look at the area next to the fridge by removing the vent covers (outside) and peering in. If you don't have a direct line of sight, maybe hold your phone (carefully) and snap a photo inside the area next to the fridge??

Well, speaking as a die-hard do it yourselfer for the last 60 years, there is no project that is as fun and rewarding as finding new storage space in the trailer.

So I bet he says yes!!

One more question...can you store things under the bed ? Ours lifts up, but wasn’t sure if you can put non bulky items (extra sheets, blankets, paper products) in that space without causing issues.

Yes! All of that empty space is fair game. You mention that the bed in your trailer lifts up -- if it's like most lift-up beds, there are gas struts at the hinge points. (They look like shock absorbers.) Don't put anything in there that will tweak the struts.

Our storage is under the seats of the dinette, but it is the same idea. So, for example, we have a down comforter that we put into a "stuff sack" that goes under the seat -- the sack converts a bulky item into a compact item.

No struts there. Our dinette seat cushions have storage under them-again no struts. I pack all canned goods, sugar, coffee, syrup, eat., in one and the other holds the coffee maker, toaster and heater (electric) and some other odds and ends.

We ought to start a "storage tips" thread -- in fact, I'm going to do that now. (This is what passes for fun in the age of Covid. We can't travel, so we think about traveling.)
