I'm taking an informal survey of other trailer owners.

I would like to purchase a tire pump for our trailer that runs from the SUV cigarette lighter. In case the tires get low, so we don't have to tow the darned thing to the closest gas station.

My wife thinks it's unnecessary, that no one else does that, and that it will just take up storage room.

What are your thoughts? Do you have an electric tire pump in your trailer in case the tires get low?

Thanks!

I have a heavy duty compressor I mounted in my H3 under the hood.I would defenatly buy one , A inexpensive one thet uses the cig plug is fine.
Most flats have slow leaks and it can then be driven to a repair shop.
I carry a tire plug kit ,the tire can be repaired on the camper ot truck and then inflated.
Also most fun finders have radial tires the spare is a cheep poly tire.
Dont leave home without one,$20 to 30 bucks check pep boys.

I keep one in my tow vehicle rather than in the trailer. I got it at Costco for around $25. It doesn't take up much space and it's cheap insurance whether I'm towing or not.

I have one and it's priceless. I got a heavier duty one (around $40) and keep it in my tow vehicle. I also used it constantly on a slow leak in my car. You never have to worry again about where to find air!

I got mine at pep boys, its a masterflow.
About $70.00 but high output and has clamps to mount to battery(I hooked it up directly to battery and ran a airline under drivers door and have a connection there to hook up the ar hose.)
The ones with a cig plug are light duty but work well on the road.
I airdown for offroading so the more powerfull one does 4 tires quickly.

Same result diferent method
I bought a small CO2 tank system for my UTV for out in the boonies, and it will go along in the trailer.
For me it's more multi use,for air or run an impact or at home to run a nail gun, ect

I have a portable unit in the tow vehicle at all times, and I've used countless times. Get one TODAY!!!! :D

Me too I bought a protable pump from walmart and it came with some of that green slim tire selant too.. but honestly i use the pump most of the time to blow up all the kids pool toys exspecialy the huge lobster lounge chair my nephew has i blew that up by mouth once it took me 20 minutes and being a smoker it sure didnt help lol

Absolutely a Necessity!

I, too, carry one with me for all travels, with or without the trailer. One can never quite guarantee that the tire pressure in the spare will be right when you need it! I purchased on at Wal-Mart for about $50 which can fill a tire in between 3-5 minutes. It's a sound investment. Also make certain to have a high quality pressure gauge as well.
