Tire slim question

I was wondering if any one uses tire slim in their tires. Says it's supposed to seal punctures. My camper is a single axle trailer and from what I've read blow outs can be alittle dangerous. Just thinking of some options to try to avoid flats and blow outs.

I've never used anything like Slime. That stuff is really intended to stop minor punctures so I'm not convinced it would help prevent a blowout.

Most tire failures are caused by running tires that are improperly inflated, driving above rated speeds (trailer tires are rated for 65 mph max) or tires that are too old. IMHO if you properly maintain your tires and keep you speed to 65 mph your chances of a blowout are pretty minimal.

I have used tire slime but NOT in my camper nor tires that are run at highway speeds.

I've only used it in rider lawnmower tires & wheel borrow tires that often leak/go flat for no reason.....and it works GREAT in them!

Ditto; use them on my zero turn mower, lawn tractor, ATVs, wagons, etc. but, would never use it in a highway tire. I was up getting new tires on one of my cars at a large local tire dealer a couple of years ago. A few bays over, there was suddenly a whole lot of running around and cussing. Seems that customer had put a whole big bottle of slime in his tires, but, forgot to tell the tire tech...what a mess. As mentioned, most RV tires fail catastrophically, not something slime can handle.

Thanks guys for the input. So what I got from all that is if I put slime in the trailer tire and it does fail for whatever reason, all I'm gonna have is a torn up tire and green slim all over everything. lol I guess I'll pass on that idea. thanks again!

About the only thing you can do to give a better ride and reduce the heat/stress of your camper tires is maintain them with maximum recommended air pressure and balance the tires.

I check tire pressure every time I take the camper on the road and I put dyna beads in them to maintain balance....and they really work. Semi drivers have used them for years. Also have them in the pickup and the motorcycle tires ~ not a hint of vibration ever.
