I want to get the xt-200 and pull it with my 2008 durango. The durango has the hemi and 3.55 rear with a 7600 tow capasity. Will put two bikes(1200lbs) in the trailor and my wife and me in the car. Should come out to be around 6000lbs to 6500lbs. Any thoughts?

What are people pulling the xt-200 with?

With what you wrote, looks like you are OK for weight.

I pull my xt276 w/a full dress Harley with my Dodge 1500 Ram, hemi and AT with no problem.

Thanks

What is your gear ratio? The 200 about as large as you would go with the Durango. The dealer thinks the 245 or 276 would be ok but I'm skeptical.

My Dodge came with 16" tires and has the 3.55 gear ratio which, by factory specs, give a GTWR of 7,600 lbs.

IF it would have had the 3.92 gear ration, the GTWR would be 8,600 lbs.

If you give your Durange S/N to your Dodge dealer, he can tell you your gear ratio and GTWR.

Be wary of what the RV salesperson says. One tired to tell me a Raptor toy hauler would be no problem for my Dodge. He was right, it would be just under the weight limit ......... as long as it was EMPTY with no toys, no personal items, no propane, no water, etc.!!
