Trip report: Boondocking in Mojave Desert -- blog post

Looks great! Thanks for the photos! It looked like you had the whole desert to yourselves.

Looks very cool. Nice write up and pictures I enjoyed it. Nothing like the landscape where we are from in Western Canada. I would love to go there some day.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, Jimbo, we sort of had it all to ourselves -- the nearest neighbor was about a mile away. Very quiet and peaceful.

And kmeindin, have you ever been to Cache Creek in BC? It looks a lot like the Mojave Desert, surprisingly enough. (I prefer the greener parts of Canada, but some folks like the desert.)

Hi

Yes, I have been to Cache Creek. It’s close to Kamloops and Merit area. I have not camped right in Cache Creek but we have camped in Kamloops and Merit area. We have driven though Cache Creek a few times. Very dry hot area. Down further south around Osoyoos BC it’s even hotter. Personally I kind of like the greener parts as well. But still nice.

ProfDan, I enjoy seeing your posts in the X-139 -- we have the 2006 model and still not braving much boondocking. We need a better tow vehicle for off pavement. I'm hopeful we'll do that now in 2021! Thanks for the great cheer-up photos. We also tried some boondocking for the Geminids, at a BLM campground (El Malpais). Yup, it was cloudy there, too.:)
