We took our little X-139 to the snow -- no problem! (As long as you bring a good shovel to chop away the ice . . . .)

Here's a link to our blog post -- lots of photos:

Look, Mom, We're Camping!: Yosemite Valley in the Snow: January 2022

Eagle, the good news is that you don't have to drive for eight hours to see snow, like I do!

:) Yup ... tends to arrive every winter and sometimes up to 100 inches. And I do love the change of seasons - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter and each season has it's own wonders of nature.

Could be why this State is known as "The Land of Infinite Varity"

We have lots of seasons in California, too! Fire, Mud, Flood, Fog, Tourist, Smog, and Wind. Each one is special.

I see you mentioned Tourist but not Traveler.

When I'm on the road, I am a "Traveler" as I know where I came from, where I am going and how to get there. :)

A 'Tourist' is easy to spot as they seldom know where they came from, where they are going or how they got to where they are. ;):D

As for rain in California ... can't say I ever experienced any traveling there in the 60's,70's and the 80's but closest I've been since in the 90's was Las Vegas and no rain there either!

Looks like fun! I love any season at Yosemite.
I'm looking forward to improving enough I can hit the road again this year. I missed 2020 and 2021.

40 Below and Shovelin' Snow is a great song lyric* but we've opted for "A$$ in the Water and Toes in the Sand." The FunFinder is under cover here in the Keys and I am shirtless. Life is good. :)

* Look for "It Beats 40 Below with Rocketman" on YouTube.

Three reasons to enjoy cold winter temperatures:
1. The cold air clears the sinuses.
2. You can always put more on to keep warm but can only take so much off.
3. Cold weather keeps the riff raff away.

Just funnin!

Nice Yosemite Trip Report

Thanks for the good Yosemite trip report Profdant —

We live at 4500’ in the Sierra Nevadas — about 50 road miles from the Southern Yosemite entrance.

We are actually just about the same distance from the Kings Canyon entrance station.

About 20 minutes from Shaver Lake.

Nice time of the year to go — without the giant crowds.

Best, Fred
