Here are some shots of my TV mod for my 2008 189 FBS.
When I bought it earlier this year, it had the old tube TV and was wasting valuable storage space. I cut a panel of 3/4" MDF and routed the edges to match the rest of the trim and sprayed it with Rustolem (I can't remember the exact color, but it matched pretty good).
I got the adjustable TV mount and cables from Monoprice.com. If haven't shopped there before, I highly recommend it - top quality cables and accessories for dirt cheap. The hinges, catch, and door pull all came from Lowes.
Now I can use that upper space for storage. You have to swing the TV out of the way to get something big up there, but for smaller stuff it opens wide enough with out a problem.
