Water issues T139

We just picked up a 2005 T139 - all seems to be working well except for the water system. With both tank/pump operation and direct hookup the water pours out of the pipe under the trailer towards the rear (overflow?). Hoping it’s something simple I’m overlooking. Suggestions?

Need a little more info to give you a better answer. First, what pipe is the water running out of? If it's the waste tanks drain valve it could be that the valve isn't closed all the way or its broken. (It should also have a cap on it by the way.) Also the line from the tank to the drain valve could have broken.

OTOH if its leaking with all the water fixtures off but hooked to city water or when the pump comes on then there is likely a break somewhere in the fresh water supply line.

Thank you for the help not sure if my first reply sent... there are two pipes about 4 inches long behind the wheel. Water pours out of the one closest to the front. I’ll send a pic if I can figure out how to upload it

Also - no leak really water just pours out of that pipe as soon as I use the pump or city water supply.

OK. It's starting to sound like the dump valves are missing so you only have an open pipe on the dump tanks. Do you have something that looks similar to this:

Neither one of those pipes looks 'factory'. My guess - and it's just a guess - is that your trailer was modified so the gray water from your sinks drains out that pipe.

Would that explain why no water is going to the faucets and just going directly to those outlet pipes?

Oh wow, I guess I missed that. I thought the water was coming from faucet and down the sink drain to those pipes. If water is going directly to the pipes then the prior owner has made a big modification. Can you contact who you bought the trailer from and ask them how they did this? If not you'll need to access the area where the water pump is and see how it was modified. It might be a simple fix.

Another thought. Maybe that is where the winterizing valves drain? It's possible the drain hose was replaced with that PVC pipe and you just need to turn the bypass valves to get the water to flow to the sinks.

I'm gonna guess it's a drain from the plumbing system to winterize the camper. Look inside.

Thanks again for the help. Got it figured out. The low point drains are under the sink in this trailer. I thought I had tried every combination regarding the position of the stopcock valve. My fiancé took one look at it and turned the cold valve to the left and the hot water valve to the right and bingo. (She is a nurse so she has superpowers)

Glad it worked out ok! Welcome to the club. Where are you located, and where are you going to travel? If this is your first RV, ask lots of questions! And always listen to suggestions from your Significant Other -- I've discovered that two heads are better than mine.


And congrats on scoring a vintage T139 --as you can see by my screen name, I am a big fan. We bought a lightly used 2003 T139 in 2005 -- used it a LOT for six years and then sold it and bought a new 2012 X139 in late 2011. We continue to camp around 90 nights a years, more or less. (Less this year, obviously.)

sounds like the drain is open, mine , 08 - X160, is at the fresh water tank under the dinette seat, if that tap is open, close it and the water should stop, if not, check lines someone may have let if freeze and bust a line.

Thank you all - appreciate the welcome. We are based in Albuquerque. Hope to take the trailer up to Washington State/Idaho this summer in addition to camping locally. So far we love the convenience and ease of a smaller rig - it was just what we were looking for. Glad we found this site!
