We are entering the RV'ing family nice and slow. We purchased, a new to us, 2002 Shadow Cruiser Fun Finder from our friends. Now to just find the time to see how we do in the camping world!! We were able to take it out once before the cold KS winds started blowing......We are nature lovers and love kayaking, hiking and fishing but our retiring bodies were getting a little "aggravated" with our tent camping! So here we go - just gotta make the time to use it!!!!

I took a few trips to RV sites with full hook ups and learned a lot about my TT. Members on this site are very helpful. Take your time and drive slow, let others go around you until you get used to towing.

I retired two years ago and bought a small TT, I was a tent camper for 20 years. Hot shower and toilet alone is a game changer. You now have a whole kitchen with ya.

Enjoy

Time to evaluate what your time is spent on. Babysitting grandkids, household chores, maintaining the house, spending money eating out? Life is short. Do what makes you happy first, not what makes you feel guilty. Don’t wait until you think you can afford to retire.. you may drop dead tomorrow.

Exactly. I retired seven years ago at 46 and will admit that it is a bit daunting to move from saving mode to spending mode - But we worked hard and saved hard, no kids and nobody that we like enough to leave anything to so it's play time now. Our plan is to go out with all the toys and leave nothing in the bank.

I know an old farmer that owns a large farm in western Kansas. His comment is he hopes the very last check he writes, bounces ! Sounds like a good strategy to me.

I retired at 57. 65 now, and glad I did go at 57.

I retired one and a half years ago at age 57. We got our travel trailer shortly before I retired and I've spent many days since making improvements to it. Now I have a second house in Florida which seems to be sucking up all my time making improvements to it. I hope to get back to Michigan in May to use the trailer and do some R&R. Who ever said retirement was dull? I think I'm twice as busy now than when I was working. LOL.
