I have a quick question, have a 2011 fun finder 189fbs, bought a honda 2000 watt generator. whats the general consensus, The pass through storage in camper or the back of my pickup truck? or does it matter?

I stow mine in the pickup bed. Of course I have a Honda 3000, no way that will fit in the pass-thru.

If I were in your situation I would probably stow it in the truck. Better ventilation for fumes and if any fuel spills it will be much easier to clean up.

I agree. To me the 'safe' location for my Honda Eu2000i and companion Eu200i with an extra 5 gallon fuel container is in the bed of the pickup.

In the Trailer while underway, but outside in the back when using, while under lock w/ chain.....

From the photo, it's clear you do NOT have have the metal protectors on the handles to prevent someone from cutting thru the plastic and taking the generators. I think Honda gets like $45 each for them.

Have you ever had anyone mess with your stuff?

My thought is if a thief wants them, the metal handle protectors won't stop them anyway.

:?:

As they say: "Locks only keep honest people honest!

No problems where I go, Plus we have our dog that will bark if someone is close to us, its just a another step that a thief needs to pass to get to them, if they really want them and pass my dog and my Glock the deserve them ! LOL

Yes, likewise I carry a handgun in the states where my permit is valid.

However, what about states where your states handgun permit is NOT valid. Is the camper considered your 'home' for transporting/possession or ??

Yes, I believe that an RV is Like a House, You can carry within, but I have an CCW in a few states also,

Thanks guys, probably keep them in the truck bed (with gas can) never thought about locking them up though, I got a lot lot to learn!

Athough I've never had a problem all the years "tenting" it nor the past couple years with my toy hauler ~ I have heard in some areas the thieves prey on campgrounds for easy pickings. Campers often leave items outside their campers. Campgrounds at local/state fairs are prime targets I've been told.

Locks won't deter a determined thief but will deter the 'thief of open opportunity' :!:

Gas cans in the bed of the pickup, generator strapped down in the rear of the hauler. Thousands of miles like this not one issue. Easy in easy out. Generator is typically cable locked to hauler when outside but to be honest we rarely camp anywhere we have to use it. Basically its a insurance policy that we have power.
