Does anyone have experience using a wifi backup camera that you view through your smart phone?
I just discovered that you can purchase a WiFi backup camera. Seems simple to install and use.
Mount the camera to the back of trailer, run wire to a transmitter that can be mounted at front of trailer, hook power (12 volts) to trailer battery, download app to iPhone or Android phone and start viewing the rear of trailer. Open app for viewing when backing up or in traffic.
It's probably a little more involved than that but eliminates need for extra monitor by dashboard.
I am still researching but if they work as good as claimed I want one.
Thank you.

I'm guessing the camera would be fairly wide-angle, so it'd likely be good for backing up, but it might be odd for use in traffic.

I do a lot of action sports photography. With wide-angles, generally things look really far away, until they're suddenly way too close.
