window seals

Noticed a small water leak I suspected was coming from the emergency exit window. When I removed the Window I was surprised to see the putty tape that was used to seal the window was not even making contact with the Wall of the trailer in a lot of spots. It looked like Stevie Wonder put the tape on the window frame. totally sloppy work by the manufacture. The only thing keeping the water out was a super thin bead of caulk on the outside frame of the window. The caulking was getting weathered and pulled way from the frame in spots. I ended removing the front window and other side window. Same thing putty tape looked brand new not even touching parts of the wall. Again the only thing keeping the water out was the thin caulking..better check the caulking on your windows..

The front of these trailers seems to be the most probable area for leaks and you have discovered an important reason why. Some have even removed the front window altogether. It's the things that we can't see that shock us when we have to tear things apart. Sorry this happened but good that you are addressing it.

poor quality control, I am lucky I bought this trailer in Southern California and rain has been scarce for years..

I had the same problem with my front passenger side compartment, I thought a little water was getting by the door seal so I tightened the door up and kept a close eye on it and later on still had a small amount of water get in. Turns out they left a tiny gap along the one side between the frame and fiberglass that I could barely force my fingernail into. Sealed it up and have not had a problem since. So I checked all other seals and it looks like I have to do the same thing to the door handle on the main entry door. Check your units closely to avoid damage down the road. Luckily I caught my issues before any damage could be done. Silverado

I am having the same problem. Did you just seal the crack in place or did you remove the trim and completely resale all the way around? What did you use to seal the crack?

I first sealed it with duct tape as I was on vacation when I finally found the route cause and wanted to prove my suspicion. After raining all night then driving a couple hours in the rain it was bone dry. I now have the trailer parked in the shop and will pull the frame off and use RV Putty and seal it up proper. its a very simple fix the hardest part is scraping off the old buytl tape.

I used buytl tape and Geocel proflex to caulk the window frame

Update on Baggage door leak, I used Proflex RV after cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol, picture is the top left part of the door frame which is 1" from the awning frame which made it difficult to see and diagnose. I checked all other frames and found a large gap on the outside of the door handle on the main entry. Sealed it as well but I think the way the door is built it may have not been a problem
