X-139 ... problems with front delamination ...

Hello friends ..
I have a 2007 X-139 and I have “ bubbles” forming around the front window and along the top by the running lights ...
Costly repair ?
I’ve contacted my insurance and have started a claim ..
Hope it can be repaired !

My guess would be that you have water damage.
Ours had been repaired before we purchased it. The entire front was removed and all the wood replaced. They removed and replaced the wood and decking in the roof as well. You may find more damage as the repairs begin.
These flat roofs take a lot of maintenance and sealant.

I guess when it’s peeled back we will see ...
I think you are right about the water damage ...

I purchased the RV from a private party ... At the top of the trailer was a small dent.. I asked the then owner what was up about that and he said that a small tree branch had caused it .. I asked if there was water damage and he said no... I went inside and looked around and saw no stains in the ceiling or on the walls ...
and now as the weather gets warmer the bubbles get bigger...
I contacted my insurance ... filed a claim... got a message ... they said that it is not covered ! fire damage or accident or other things are covered ... other things ??
So iI will now contact my insurance company and ask them about " other things"
So I will continue until it is repaired !!!

This is a common problem with the older models that do not have the fiberglass front. Water gets in through the roof or top marker lights, then rots out the wood structure and delaminates the exterior wall.

We have a t139, same trailer, but metal skin, so no demamination. It did have soft spots around one area under the window, so water damage of rotting wood. We knew about it when we bought it and planned to fix it, because the price was very reasonable.

We re-sealed every seam and penetration on the camper, then repaired the wood from the inside. We removed the interior thin wood wall covering that was over the soft spots, and cut out the rotten framing. We replaced it with the same size wood, epoxied, screwed and tonailed into place. Then cut a piece of very thin wood to fit and fill the wallboard we had removed. Wood filler and a good sanding gave a nice smooth surface to cover with vinyl grasscloth wallpaper. The repaired area is firm and strong, and looks very nice If I say so myself.

In our hot, dry climate, we see a lot of delamination. An rv dealer told me heat can cause it as well as water.

I don't know much about delaminaion, but maybe if you just fix the leaks, you can live with the bubbles, if the framework is sound. Or maybe you can get the panel replaced without unreasonable cost.

I like our camper so much, I felt a little sick when we realized it was more extensive than we first thought, so I understand how you must feel! Good luck!

What a beautiful repair ... it looks incredible !!
I have been thinking of my options ... removing the front cap .. checking insulation and wood framing ... then put on a new cap without the front window ??? My Dad might be able to help me ..
I’m still waiting for the insurance adjuster to inspect it ...

You are right about the cost ! It might be more than the RV is worth ... and the insurance company may not pay ....
So I need to wait see what they say ...
I just love the little RV !!

If you are sure it is no longer leaking, I wonder whether you really need to fix the delamination??

I had a couple RV repair people look at it .. they said it is a big possibility that it could just continue to bubble up ...
so I will have to deal with it ...
I’m bummed ... it doesn’t leak ... I agree with you ....
